Spark Organization

Spark Makerspace Co. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Spark is organized to maximize membership involvement in its leadership while also ensuring that the organization's legal and fiscal responsibilities are adequately met.

Board of Directors

Spark's Board of Directors carry the legal and fiscal responsibility for the organization. The Board is presently composed of 8 directors (including a chairperson, vice-chairperson, treasurer, and secretary) and the executive director. The bylaws provide for two #member-elected representatives selected by the membership to have full voting seats on the Board for a 1 year term. This ensures that the members are fully represented in organizational decisions at this level. Board of Directors meeting minutes are available to members upon request. Just send an email over to [email protected] and we'll send it over 📧.

Board of Directors Meeting Schedule

The Board of Directors meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:00PM-8:00PM typically in person in the coworking room at Spark Makerspace. While the makerspace is under reduced capacity for COVID-19, the Board is meeting virtually instead.

Member-Elected Representatives

The member-elected representatives to the Board of directors serve for a one year term. The representatives' terms are staggered by 6 months to ease transitions to newly elected representatives. Elections occur in June and December at general member socials.
