Term Definition
CAD computer aided design
CAM computer aided manufacturing
Center Cutting Cutting tools which have cutting flutes on the bottom of the cutter which extend all the way from the outside edge to the center. This allows the tools to be plunged straight down into the workpiece like a drill bit. See also Plunge
Chatter movement between the work piece and the cutting tool, often caused by flex of the machine, tool, or workpiece. May also be caused by bad cutter geometry or incorrect feeds and speeds
